Make Your Own Natural Homemade Deodorant

It is very easy to make your own homemade deodorant! You just need 4 ingredients and you can mix it up in just a couple of minutes.

The best thing about this natural homemade deodorant is that it works! Actually, I’ve never used anything better. It absorbs any perspiration and doesn’t smell at all for at least 24h.

Best homemade deodorant that actually works perfect!

On top of that, it is possible to produce your own natural homemade deodorant completely waste free. You can buy all the ingredients at your local bulk shop or in reusable containers at most eco stores.

Natural Homemade Deodorant Recipe

These are the only ingredients you'll need to make you own natural homemade deodorant.

To produce 1/2 a cup of natural deodorant, which will last easily for a couple of months, you’ll need:

  • 3 T of Corn Starch
  • 3 T of Baking Soda
  • 3 T of melted Coconut Oil (maybe a bit more, depends on what consistency you like best)
  • 10-15 drops of any Essential Oil you like can be mint, lavender or lemon

Then you put everything together in a bowl and mix it together. Make sure you mix it properly and don’t have any clumps in it as the baking soda can be sticky.

Just mix all the ingredients in the right amounts together in a bowl to make your own natural homemade deodorant

You can store the paste in a little glass jar or any other container and you are ready to go. Just apply like any other deodorant paste on your armpit using your finger or a small wooden spatula (a popsicle stick works well).

put your natural homemade deodorant paste in a little glas jar for easy and eco-friendly storage.

Variations

My partner has an allergy to baking soda. It’s also possible to make your own homemade deodorant using shea butter, coconut oil and corn starch but it’s not as effective. There are other natural deodorants without baking soda, to avoid allergic reactions.

You can vary the ratios to find your perfect consistency. Bear in mind that the coconut oil will solidify below about 23°C making it harder to apply.
